  • Next-Phase COVID Communications: Bridging From Need to Oppor

    Webinar

    Friday, June 5, 2020
The spread of COVID-19 across the United States this spring was an unprecedented crisis for hospitals and health systems. Leadership scrambled to accommodate the operational demands of incoming cases. Development officers were enlisted to serve on multiple fronts, from supporting communications to acquiring PPE and transporting supplies. Donors called in, anxious to help, eager to contribute emergency funds and make gifts-in-kind of food and supplies. As we approach summer, health care systems are better prepared to manage a continuing pandemic, but uncertain of its course or duration. For Advancement leaders, the challenge is to transition from a need-based framework to an opportunity-based one. But how do they simultaneously pursue their pre-virus priorities? How has COVID changed what will resonate with donors? SteegeThomson, a firm devoted exclusively to nonprofit fundraising and marketing communications, will facilitate a webinar featuring a panel of AHP members from prominent hea

For-profit organizations tend to drive innovation and creative thinking in today’s complex and dynamic marketing landscape—but it doesn’t have to be that way. How can hospitals and healthcare foundations apply for-profit strategies with significant results? We’ll showcase some of the latest digital trends currently shaking up the consumer, retail and political industries—and identify which could make waves in healthcare tomorrow. We’ll use industry examples to demonstrate how simple, yet powerful storytelling and strong visuals can make a big impact in email marketing and online ads—plus how unexpected humor and personalization can drive connection, even attracting new audiences. Finally, we’ll discuss how predictive modeling and advanced analytic tools like empty cart and reengagement campaigns can inspire and re-activate donors. Whether you need inspiration for something new in your strategy, or you simply want to learn, this presentation will inspire you to think outside the box.

  • Let’s Get Engaged! Build Pipeline & Bring Donors Closer

    Webinar

    Tuesday, June 23, 2020
One definition for Engagement is “a formal agreement to get married.” Whoa, slow down, we just met! Is this what our donors hear when we attempt to “engage” them with our organizations? Probably, sometimes. So, what’s the trick? How do we better handle the cultivation process, especially for those donors who come to us through digital channels? The truth is, we have to treat it much more like dating, especially for the droves of first-time supporters who will form the donor base for our organizations, and whose top tier will become our next major gift investors. We must be intentional in building excitement with all who make that gift and help them feel the butterflies that resemble the early thrills of a new relationship. Join us as we show you how to court your new donors to a fulfilling early relationship with your organization, even if they’re not quite ready to be engaged!

At the University of Vermont Medical Center, we have created opportunities for employees to not only learn first-hand what philanthropy does for our organization, but also ways for them to directly contribute to the impact of philanthropy … without having to make a gift. œ Learn about an annual fund supported grant program, that engages employees at every stage of the process. Employees are applicants, reviewers, and grantees. Senior leaders, Foundation Board Members, caregivers, staff, and patients are also involved in the process. œ Learn how philanthropy inspired a program to create a system to help caregivers determine how to identify and direct extra assistance (hotel vouchers, change of clothing etc.) to family members.
