    Hello Everyone!

My first time posting on here--so I hope I am doing this correctly! :)

We recently had someone present the idea of signing up for Amazon Smile so that a percentage of their purchases would be sent to our foundation. We are looking into this and wanted to touch base with people who are doing this or have had experience doing this as a receiver of the funds!

    We are wondering..

How did it or is it going?
    What are the pros/cons?
How was the back end work?
How did you promote this to let folks know they can have a % of their amazon eligible purchases come to our foundation?

Any other information you have would be great to know as well!

Looking forward to hearing about your experiences. Feel free to also call or email me about this :)

Be aware that if you do actively promote programs like this, you run the risk of alienating local businesses that may be supporting your organization as they may perceive you are driving their customers to shop online rather than supporting local business. I believe its worthwhile to sign up for opportunities like this, but do it knowing that you likely already have local businesses supporting your organization at least at the level promised by national, online businesses like Amazon. Keeping this in mind can help avoid a confrontation with local vendors and businesses who may already be supporting your organization.

Hi Brittanie, I just joined this group and saw your post.  I know I'm a year late, but we just started with AmazonSmile.  I'd love to chat with you now that you're a year in.  Feel free to email me if you're will to chat about best practices...mcgarry@holyname.org, thanks.
