Does anyone currently have a Physician Fund? A retired provider approached the Foundation about starting a fund/giving program that is funded and allocated by the physicians to promote the welfare of staff patients, hospital and the community. Wondering if this strategy has worked well for others or if there are some things to be mindful of before proceeding.
Some initial ideas he suggested they could potentially fund:
-Nursing/Clinical Staff Support-
-Needs for a hospital lounge for nurse rest and quiet space
-Scholarship for their children
-Bonus tuff like free lunches, pizza day, appreciation events, holiday gift cards/party
Patient Support-
-Swag- newspapers, blanket, baseball caps, or lunch tokens
-Social Service support
Community Outreach-
-Local- sponsorship of local teams, groups, volunteers, food shelve, county fair representation
-Far- partnership with other hospital in underserved arenas nationally and internationally
