Hi all,
As a young (4 years old) but growing foundation we are beginning to see more and more multi year gifts. We currently have a stewardship plan that outlines activities based on gift size that of course increases in touches with the corresponding increase in gift size. We also recognize our donors in the Annual Report listed based on gift size.
My question is: Should the total gift be used to determine the stewardship activities or should we use the actual gift payment for each year to determine that? I can make a case for both ways but would like to know what other folks are doing. Also for the Annual Report - does your organization list the gift in the year made as one gift OR do you list the donor in the category that applies to the annual payment made for that year. Again I can make arguments for both sides.
